Obituary for Minnie "Nell" Still
Minnie “Nell” Still of Barnwell/Hilda and Neeses, SC, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 19,2021.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 23,2021 at 11:00AM in Reedy Branch Baptist Church, Barnwell, SC with Rev. Harry Warren and Rev. Christopher Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Still was born in Orangeburg County to the late William Arthur and Minnie Alice Sanford. She worked as a seamstress in various Manufacturing Companies and also was a loving Caregiver to numerous families in the area.
She was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church until her health prevented her attendance. After making her home with her daughter in Neeses, she attended Beaver Creek Baptist Church when able. She was a loving and caring Mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved flower gardening, traveling and visiting family. She satisfied the appetite of many family and friends with her famous “Catfish Stew”.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara and husband, Rev. Wilton Gleaton of Neeses SC; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Judy) Jackson and James (Stacy) Jackson both of Barnwell SC, Amanda (Michael) Harper of Cumming GA and Chad (Cortney) Gleaton of Anchorage AK.; 14 great-grands and 6 great-great grands.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Still and daughter, Dorothy L. Jackson. She was the last survivor of her family of six siblings.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter at 937 Water Tank Rd., Neeses, SC and on Tuesday from 6-8pm at Mole Funeral Home, 9399 Patterson St., Barnwell, SC.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Reedy Branch Baptist Church or to a charity of ones’ choice.
