Obituary for Mollie Lou Sheffield Cheek
Mollie Lou Sheffield Cheek, 81, went to be with her Lord on June 11, 2021 at her home in Barnwell, SC.
Mollie was born in Guyton, GA on May 4, 1940. She was the daughter of the late James Sheffield and Marie S. Polk. She was a retired clerk at Wal-Mart in Barnwell, SC. She was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church in Barnwell. Mollie was a wonderful wife, aunt, and friend to all and a loving woman to all her family.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 4:00PM at Barnwell United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Francis Traxler officiating. . The family will greet guest on Saturday evening for 6-8PM at Mole Funeral Home.
Mollie is survived by her husband Lacy Vernon Cheek of the home, daughters, Sue Cheek Thornton of Bluffton, Lacy (Lisa) Cheek, Jr. of Barnwell, Wanda Cheek of Asheville, NC, Grandchildren, Tonya Thornton (Chris) Lanigan of Beaufort, SC, Jesse Thornton of Barnwell, Tucker (Shelby) Cheek of Barnwell, James Grubbs of Barnwell, Perry Harter of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She had 9 great grandchildren, brothers Harry (Barbara Sheffield of Varnville, SC, James (Doris) Sheffield of Varnville, Don (Nancy) Polk of Bluffton, Jessie Shepard, a sister Ginny (Billy) Cliffton of Denmark, 18 nieces and nephews and 25 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Perry Sheffield, and J.W. Blackwell.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Evelyn Ford, Tonya Thornton Lanigan, Terri Hair, Lacy Cheek and Sally Jamison of Pruitt Hospice of Barnwell for their love and care during Mollie’s illness.
