Obituary for Nadine Hair Purvis
Nadine Hair Purvis went to her reward on July 19, 2022. She was born February 10, 1930, in Blackville SC. Her family moved to Beaufort SC in her teens where she met and married Robert Searl Purvis on September 17, 1949. Nadine retired from the SC License Office in Beaufort SC in 1990. She was a lifelong member of Double Pond Baptist Church, Blackville SC. She and Robert moved to Barnwell SC in 1990 and then to Effingham SC in 2005. She is predeceased by her husband (2006), one sister, five brothers and one granddaughter, Tracey Purvis Phillips (2016). She is survived by one sister, Doris Whittington of Cayce SC; three children – Donna Lumsden (Larry), Wayne Purvis (Juanita Perkins) and Troy Purvis (Deana Chavers); five grandchildren – Donya Werts Cohen, Paul Purvis, Dale Purvis, Wesley Purvis, Cody Lumsden; eight great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell is assisting the family with arrangements. Her funeral will be held at Double Pond Baptist Church, 357 Double Pond Rd, Blackville SC on July 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM with visitation at 1:00 PM at the Church and burial in the Church graveyard.
