Obituary for Perry Rountree
Perry Rountree, 78, of Barnwell, SC passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on September 7, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1944, in Barnwell County to the late Kite and Sally Mae Rountree. He retired from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 39 years. Perry was a loving father and grandfather “Pepa”. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren on the farm.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Bonnie Thrift Rountree and his son Wilson Elmore. Sisters Cora Lee Bragg and Rachael Sargent.
Survived by his sons, Curtis (Katrina) Rountree, Frankie Rountree, Jessie (Suzie) Elmore all of Barnwell, SC and one daughter, Zora Barwick of Shepherdstown, WV. His sisters Mary Lee (James) Plunk and Marie Rountree. Grandchildren Brandy (Chad) Bolen, Christy (Logan) Adams, Kendra (Gus) Rountree, Myranda (Charlie) Rountree, Ashley Rountree, Erica Rountree, Kimberly Rountree, Jeanene Elmore, Rebecca Elmore, Michelle McDonald, Mindy (Steve) Rhyne, Tiffany Williams, Amber Williams, Wesley Williams. Great grandchildren Keegan, Makintley, Dierks, Wylie, Paisley, Wylder, Ryker, Keely, Kaydance, Kalayla, Kenneth, Kearselyn, Mason, and 12 others.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 9th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 AM at Seven Pines Baptist Church in Barnwell, SC with graveside to follow at Barnwell County Memory Gardens Cemetery.
