Obituary for Phillip D. Fail
Phillip Duane Fail, 51, husband of Maryann Brabham-Fail entered into eternal rest on November 17, 2013, after an extended illness. Phillip was a native of Barnwell. He was the son of the late John Wilson Fail and Eva Carroll Fail. He attended Blackville Hilda High School. He was employeed by Albemarle Corporation as a chemical operator. He attended Texas A&M University where he achieved his Industrial Firefighting certification. Phillip was an avid Barnwell Warhorse & Carolina Gamecock fan. He was a member of Hagood Ave. Baptist Church and actively participated in their Celebrate Recovery Program. Survivors include his wife of 7 years, Maryann Brabham-Fail; his son, Jeremy Fail of Barnwell, his stepsons, Dylan (Lindsay) Brabham of Sycamore and Banks Brabham of Barnwell; sisters, Thelma (John) Bell of Blackville, Betty (Ashley) Flowers of Williston and Cathy (Paul) Copes of Pelion; brothers, Orean (Dorothy) Fail of Cherryville NC, Wesley (JuliaMae) Fail of Blackville and Larry (Jo) Fail of Williston, many cousins, great nieces and nephews as well as special friends Kathy Shaner, Barbara Bell, Dennis Brabham and Hospice Nurse Janet Garrick,; and his beloved pet, Ella and grand dogs Salk and Ellie. He was predeceased by a brother, Allen Fail of Blackville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 pm Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Hagood Ave. Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Co. Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Visitation will be held from 2 pm until the hour of service. The family would like to say special thanks to the Barnwell Fire Department. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Phillip's honor to the Hagood Ave. Baptist Church Mission Fund.
