Obituary for Polly Fales Christie-Hinde
Christie-Hinde, Polly Fales
After her retirement from teaching in Dekalb County GA, she traveled the world, living her 98 years to the fullest. She will be forever missed by her children Robert Fales Christie of St. Petersburg FL and Phyllis Christie White of Buford GA and their families, by many dear friends and by members of her favorite organizations, Decatur DeKalb Retired Teachers Assn. and the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. A founding board member of Georgia United Credit Union, she was thrilled this year to have an annual scholarship announced in her name. Polly graduated from Barnwell High School, attended Columbia College and graduated with an elementary education degree from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. Private services will be held in Barnwell at the family plot in the Old Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will rest alongside her grandfather David Davis of Sandersville GA, her mother and father Ira and Marie Fales and her husband Robert Vogel Christie. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The American Kidney Foundation, the Decatur Civic Chorus, or the scholarship fund of the Decatur DeKalb Retired Teachers Assn.
