Obituary for Ralph Walter Laughlin
Ralph Walter Laughlin, 83, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. Mr. Laughlin was born in Covington, Kentucky on December 24, 1932 to the late Harry D. and Hilda Stenger Laughlin. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and a 20 year retired Sergeant First Class with the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00AM in St. Andrews Catholic Church. Burial will be on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00AM in Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the St. Andrews Catholic Church, 168 Madison St., Barnwell, SC 29812, Shepeard Community Blood Center, 353 Fabian Dr., Aiken, SC 29803. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mary Brown Laughlin of the home, a son, Greg (Janet) Laughlin of Columbus, GA, a daughter Amy Laughlin McGinnis of Aiken, SC, three grandchildren, Andrew McGinnis of Aiken, SC, Joshua McGinnis of Augusta, GA, and Catherine (Tyson) McGinnis of Columbia, SC, a great grandchild, Abigail Smith of Columbia, SC, a brother, Harold Laughlin of Cincinnati, OH, sisters, Mary Jane Hutchins of Cincinnati, OH, LaVerne Stark of Phoenix, Arizona, and Shirley Lalley of Villa Hills, Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a baby brother Harry and a brother, John "Jack" Laughlin. The family would like to show their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of University Hospital.
