Obituary for Richard Jean Atkinson
Richard Jean “Ricky” Atkinson, 69, of Barnwell, SC passed away on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at his home. He was born in Allendale County, SC on April 26th, 1953 to the late Floyd Atkinson and Gwendolyn Harvey Richardson. A lifetime member of the Carpenter’s Local 283 in Augusta, Ricky was a master carpenter and roofer.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Atkinson; children Wesley Atkinson, Tiffany Atkinson, Casey Jo Jeter Atkinson, and Richard Rhett Atkinson; grandchildren Avery Atkinson, Dalton Atkinson, Whitney Gibson, Savannah Gibson, Trevor Atkinson, Blake Gibson, and Ella Gibson; great granddaughter Jocelyn Montejano; brothers Tommy Atkinson and James Atkinson; sisters Tassy Renew, Amanda Frickling, Debbie Sue Beasley, Betty Joe “Nunny” Grubbs, Mary “Sue Sue” Moxley; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Atkinson.
A gathering to celebrate Ricky will be announced at a later date. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family.
