Obituary for Richard W. Adkins
Richard W. Adkins, 59, passed away on December 15, 2019 in the VA Hospital in Augusta Ga. With is loving companion Betty Ray and family members by his side.
Richard was born in Harligen Texas on February 15, 1960 and was the son of the late Charles “Chuck” Adkins and Jessie Lewis Adkins of Waldo Texas. Richard was a master carpenter and wood artisan, and also a leather expert. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and also enjoyed his “Man Cave”, outdoors, and he loved his dog “Blue”.
Richard served his country in the United States Army and was an E-6. He did a military tour in Germany. He loved to cut up and had a funny personality, never met a stranger, always friendly to all, always willing to help his fellow man. Richard will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his family, friends and co workers
Survivors include his loving companion and forever friend, Betty Ray; two daughters and their children, Tosha Morgan, James and Trey of Arkansas, and Temisha Adkins and Shaiden, Coralyn and Mahlaeh of Fitzgerald Ga. an aunt, Laverne Lewis of Arkansas. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Shelby Adkins Priester. A special loving thanks to Betty’s nephew Johnny Grubbs who was always there for Richard during his illness and to Chris and Helen Mock who was always willing to drop everything to take care of Richard. God bless you all and thank you.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 pm December 24, 2019 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Farrell Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
