Robert passed away on March 21st, 2025 peacefully, at the age of 76. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Robert was known for his kind heart, unwavering strength, and the warmth he shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert was born in Ridgeland, SC on October 15, 1948 to the late Ben and Evelyn (Bessinger) Cook. He attended Barnwell High School and was a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church.
Other than his family, Robert had other passions. He enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing and hunting, where he found peace and joy. He especially looked forward to the annual camping and fishing trip with his siblings. He retired from the Savannah River Site in 2014 as a Boilermaker. He was also a skilled carpenter. Robert served faithfully in the South Carolina National Guard for 7 years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Annameta Sparks Cook, whom he loved very much; his siblings: Benny (Kathy) Cook, Ron (Patti) Cook, Charlene (Ralph) Bridges, and Paul Cook (Rebecca); his children, Robbie (Alicia) Strock, Roxie Cook, Sheri Fogle, Joseph (Mandy) Cook, and Anita (Grant) Brewer; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his healthcare staff, who became honorary members of the family: Amber Edgeman, Amanda Bruner, Sheila Kirkland, and Jane Douglas.
Mole Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements, with visitation being held at the funeral home on Monday, March 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held at Seven Pines Baptist Church in Snelling, SC at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25. Graveside will follow in the Seven Pines Baptist Church Cemetery.
