Obituary for Ronald Allen "Ronnie" Goodwin
Ronald Allen “Ronnie” Goodwin, 75, passed away in Woodstock, GA, on March 23, 2022.
Ronnie was born in Augusta, GA on October 4, 1946, to the late G.B. and Myrtle Keel Goodwin. Ronnie had worked for 40 years as a superintendent in construction for the WELCH corporation. In his early years he was a gifted athlete, excelling in sports. He thoroughly enjoyed studying nature. After he retired, he developed a passion for woodworking providing his family and friends many of his creations. Ronnie was an excellent shagger, as he traveled to many different places and joined many clubs such as the SHAG Atlanta and spent countless hours in Myrtle Beach with SHAG groups, His favorite dance partner was his beloved niece, Amy Caskey.
Funeral services for Ronnie will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 2:00PM in the Barnwell First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Bart Kelley officiating. The family will receive guest 1 hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Barnwell City Cemetery by Fuller Park. Memorial may be made to the Barnwell First Baptist Church. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell is assisting the family.
Ronnie is survived by his sister Emily Goodwin (W.C.) Collins of Barnwell and his brother, Guy B. (Carol) Goodwin of Danville, VA. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Amy (Guy) Caskey of Irmo, SC, Ashley (Bruce) Ballentine of Little Mountain, SC, Chad Goodwin Collins of Bluffton, SC and Brandt (Amy) Goodwin of Spartanburg. He also has several great nieces and nephews; he is also survived by his half-sisters June G. Black of Barnwell and Carolyn G. Black of Summerville. Ronnie was predeceased by a twin brother Donald B. Goodwin and brother Francis Goodwin, and half brother Robert Norman Goodwin and half siter Claire G. Lathan.
