Obituary for Russell "Buck" Hastedt
Russell A. (Buck) Hastedt, 81, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the University Hospital, Augusta Ga. Born in Bellaire TX on January 22, 1935 he was the son of the late Walter F. and Mamie Boessling Hastedt. Buck was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired supervisor with Shuron Inc... He was an avid square dancer and square dance caller who called for clubs all over South Carolina and Georgia. He was a devoted Clemson Tiger fan and a member of IPTAY. Buck was an ardent golfer who played golf well into his 70's. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. The family request that memorials be made to St. Andrews Catholic Church, 168 Madison St. Barnwell SC 29812 or to Animal Advocates, 10975 Marlboro Ave, Barnwell SC 29812 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Friday at ST. Andrews Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at Mole Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Machos Hastedt of Barnwell; daughter Cynthia (Matthew) Williams of Swansea; sisters, Mary H. (Numa) Handy of Huntsville TX. And Dorothy H. Beyer of Houston TX.; grandson Evan Williams of Greenville N.Y.
