Obituary for Shannon O'Neal (Neal) Hutto
Shannon Oneal "Neal" Hutto, 76, passed away surrounded by his loving wife, son and daughter on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Laurel Baye Healthcare, Williston Neal was born in Blackville SC on November 19, 1936. He was a son of the late Shannon Franklin and Maggie Edna Gillam Hutto. He was a US Marine Corp veteran and member of Hilda Southern Methodist Church. He retired as a construction supervisor with Flur- Daniel Construction Co. and was the retired owner and operator of Sugarsand Nursery. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by them. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ashley Howell and Chaplain Paul Hill officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Private family burial will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort SC. Memorials may be made to the Hilda Southern Methodist Church, 228 Old Salem Rd. Barnwell SC 29812. Or to Tri County Hospice, 2220 Woodside Executive Ct. Aiken SC. Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Rowell Hutto of Hilda; son Gregory O Hutto of Hilda; daughter, Melanie Hutto (Smitty) Kemmerlin of Hilda; son in law, Steven L Gifford Sr. of Pensacola Fl.; grandchildren, Steven L Gifford Jr and Skyler Nicholas Gifford of Pensacola Fl, Coley Smith Kemmerlin Jr of Hilda; sister Edna Vernita "Nita" Bodiford of Hilda, sisters in law, Agnes O Hutto of Hilda and Martha Z Hutto of Blackville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Hutto Gifford, sisters, Mattie Sue Gibson and Melba H Delk and brothers, Franklin Hutto and Robert Buist Hutto.
