Obituary for Thelma Harley Baxter
Thelma Harley Baxter, 92, widow of the late Arthur Baxter passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 in Barnwell She was born on December 14, 1922 in Dunbarton, SC. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Alma and Carrie Mae Turner Harley. She was a veteran of WWII serving in the US NAVY WAVES. She served as the secretary for the Barnwell United Methodist Church for over 25 years and was also former treasurer of the General John Barnwell Chapter of the DAR and was also Sunday school teacher. She loved the Atlanta Braves and Bowling. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Barnwell United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mole Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Baxter of Barnwell and 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen Baxter and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Larry and Michael Baxter, brothers, Cecil and Vincent Harley, and an infant daughter.
