Theron Stanley Collins, 96, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024. He was born in Hilda, SC on September 11, 1928 to the late Howell and Alma Still Collins.
Theron retired from DuPont. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Harmony Lodge No. 17. He loved deer hunting, fishing, and tinkering. He was the jack of all trades. He loved his family, especially his grands.
He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Collins Towne of Barnwell, and son Eric Collins of West Virginia; grandchildren Chelsea Collins, Michael Collins Jr., Sheree (Elvis) Gonzalez, Kimberly (Jon) Hurst and Tony (Dee) Towne Jr.; as well as 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Along with his parents, Theron was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie Boyd Collins; son Michael O. Collins; brothers Achille Collins, Marvin “Bob” Collins, Everon Collins, Everett Collins, Joe Collins; sister Betty Lee Sandifer; and his son-in-law Tony Towne Sr.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, with funeral services to follow in the church at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dean Deer will be officiating.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 29th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Dale Hutto officiating.
