Obituary for Thomas Randolph Richardson
Thomas Randolph Richardson passed away Tuesday May 5, at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter. He was born November 2, 1920 to the late Terie and Anna Layton Richardson. He graduated from Barnwell High School, and attended Clemson College. After serving in the U.S. Army he returned home to work on the family farm. Along with his parents, Tommie was predeceased by his wife of 68 years. Margaret Jeannette Patterson Richardson, his sister Dorothy Richardson Scruggs, and his brothers, Edward, Layton, and Bobby Lee. He is survived by his daughter Jeannette Richardson Price and her husband Bill of Sumter, granddaughters Margaret Anne Price Creech, and her husband Roy and Katherine Jeannette Price. He is also survived by three grandchildren, William Payne Creech, Layton Richardson Creech, and Thomas Fulton Creech. Tommie is also survived by his sister-in-law Lura Dean Richardson.
Uncle Tommie will be remembered by his special and loving nieces and nephews and their spouses; Terry and Gail Richardson. Ann Douglass and John David Griffith, Suzanne Bristol. Lee Richardson, Trudy and Dwight Frierson, Luanne and George Renwick, Rhett and Cheryl Richardson, Charles and Kim Richardson, James and Brenda Richardson, Jack and Laura Richardson, and Douglas and Lauren Scruggs.
He is also survived by a number of great and great great nieces and nephews who were very important to him.
A private graveside service will take place at the Barnwell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Barnwell with the Reverend Fred Buchanan officiating at 2:00PM on Friday, May 8, 2020.
