Obituary for Wade Hazel Hough, Jr
Wade Hazel Hough, Jr., 79, passed away on July 30th, 2023. He was born in Rock Hill, SC on June 24th, 1944 to the late Wade. Hazel Hough, Sr. and Faye Ernandez Grubbs.
Wade was a member of Olar First Baptist, where he served as a deacon and was on several committees. He was a member of the town council, for many years. Wade was a selfless man, who always put others first and loved helping anyone, he had a heart of gold. He never met a stranger no matter where he was. Wade loved going to the mountains, playing with his grandkids and spending time with family. Wade was married to Christine for 49 years, he was the love of her life. Wade loved his family to the fullest and his grandchildren and great grandchild were his heart. He was a wonderful man!!
He is survived by his wife, Christine Smoak Hough of Olar, SC; son Brad Hough of Aiken, SC; daughter Miranda (Rusty) Jackson of Barnwell, SC; brothers Robert (Debbie) Grubbs of Columbia, SC, Lenny Grubbs of Columbia, SC, Willie Martin (Sheryl) Grubbs of North Carolina, Joe Grubbs of Olar, SC, and Winkie (Lynne) Grubbs of Olar, SC; sister Jane (Phil) Jeffcoat of Ulmer, SC; grandchildren Zoe Hough, Benjamin Hough, Cody Jackson, Austin Jackson, and Caleb Jackson; as well as his great-grandson Corbin Wade Jackson.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Mole Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Olar First Baptist Church, with graveside to follow. Rev. Dale Hutto and Rev. George Autry will be officiating.
