Obituary for William Jesse Jolly
William Jesse “Bill” Jolly of Denmark passed away Saturday, December 1,2018 at Palmetto Health Richland. He was born in Union SC on October 6,1925 and was a son of the late Rufus and Ruby Corn Jolly.
Bill was a graduate of Union High School and Presbyterian College. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy as a landing craft driver. He was a teacher, principal and coach before starting B.Jolly Book Company.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Gross Jolly; son, Bruce (Glynda) Jolly; daughter-in-law, Emily Jolly; grandsons, Michael Christin) Jolly and Brett (Noel) Jolly; great grandchildren, Matthew, Layla, Tyson, and Blewer and numerous family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Gwen, his son, Mike and sister-in-law, Joyce Gross Gray.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Park United Methodist Church, Denmark SC Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 6 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Mole Funeral Chapel, Barnwell SC. at 2 pm.
