Obituary for William Rutledge Thomas
Olar SC William Rutledge Thomas, 66, of Olar, SC passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Mr. Thomas was born in Union SC on July 19, 1948. He was a son of the late Reuben Jasper and Mary Emma Greer Thomas. He received his undergraduate and master's degrees in forestry from Clemson University. He formerly was Vice President of Production for Kearse Manufacturing of Olar. He was head of maintenance for Collum Lumber Co of Allendale. He was a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held in the Barnwell First Baptist Church on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Keith Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kelly's Chapel Cemetery in Carlisle SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia "Pattie" (Steven) Grey of Walhalla SC; brothers, Harry Thomas of Alabaster AL. and Reuben (Judy) Thomas of Albuquerque NM.
