Obituary for William "WC" C. Collins
William C “WC” Collins, 70, passed away early Sunday morning, January 22, 2023.
WC was born in Orangeburg County, SC on March 14th,1952 to the late LC and Gladys Collins. WC retired from Savannah River Site after nearly forty years. As a young man he was very athletic and enjoyed football and baseball. He had many hobbies, including, golf, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Most family outings were spent in Beaufort, SC, spending time on the water; boating, fishing, and shrimping. He loved to cook for people! WC and Emily also enjoyed motorcycling with friends and spending time at the lake in Santee. He was a generous friend, always ready to lend a helping hand, and many times an extra helping to their plate.
Funeral services for WC will be held on Thursday, January 26th 2023 at 2:00PM, in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bart Kelley officiating. The family will receive guests for visitation at 1:00 pm and the service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Barnwell County Memory Gardens, located at 2728 Reynolds Road. Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell is assisting the family.
WC is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years Emily Goodwin Collins of Barnwell, and his two children, Chad Goodwin Collins of Bluffton, SC, and Amy (Guy) Caskey of Columbia, SC, and one grandson, Boone Edens Caskey. He is also survived by his brother Benny (Melanie) Collins of Williston, SC, as well as many nieces and nephews.
WC was predeceased by two sisters, Polly Sanders and Peggy Collins, as well as one brother, Danny Collins.
In lieu of flowers, any memorial contribution can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
