Obituary for Gene Harold Dyches
Jackson, SC Mr. Gene Harold Dyches, 80, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Harbor Chase in Aiken, SC. Born in Ellenton, SC on January 14, 1933, he was the son of the late John Harold and Mamie Rosier Dyches. He served two years in the US Army with one year in Germany, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, loved working with wood, and enjoyed farming. He loved his family very much. He was retired from the Savannah River Plant. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 2:00PM at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard McWhite officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the National Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601, or the charity of one's choice. Survivors include his loving wife; Dorothy C. Dyches of the home, son; Michael (Roz) Dyches of Barnwell, Daughters Jeannie (Bob) White of Barnwell, Debbie Potts of Barnwell, step daughters Debra Utley and Carole Baxter, Brother, Joe (Peggy) Dyches of Barnwell, sister Ruth (Julian) Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren, Jimmie Owens, Kearsten Dyches Hudson and Meagan Chavis, sister in law Mary Alice Dyches Mobley. He was predeceased by a brother Ralph Dyches and grandchildren Kimberley Lynn Potts and Sean-Michael Dyches.
