Obituary for Dorothy Lyons Hartzog
Funeral services for Dorothy Lyons Hartzog, 91, of Hilda will be held 3:00 pm Friday, July 18, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday evening at Mole Funeral Home. Mrs. Hartzog passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at her residence. Born in Colleton County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ira "Orie" Mae Smith Lyons and step mother Carrie Lyons. She was a retired housewife and a devoted mother and member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Surviving are her sons, David (Jean) Hartzog and Wesley Hartzog of Hilda; daughters, Sandra H. (James) Fogle of Hilda and Judy H. (Skip) Wilson of Chapin; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, George Wesley Hartzog and son, Claude Patrick Hartzog, sisters, Geneva Lyons, Thelma Lyons, Sophie Proveaux, Ruth Allen; brothers, Claude Lyons, Allen Fogle and Curtis Drawdy. Pallbearers will be Brandon Fogle, Ryan Fogle, Ken Hartzog, Chad Creech Claude Hartzog and Derrick Cheek. Alternate pallbearers will be Skip Wilson and James Fogle.
