Obituary for Sandra Grubbs Smith
Sandra G. (Nana) Smith, 74, of Barnwell, SC and Waynesville, NC went to be with the lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Born on September 2, 1940 in Barnwell, SC, she was preceded in death by husband, Joe L. Smith of Allendale, SC, parents Algie and Arline Grubbs, and a brother Jackie Elbert Grubbs. She was an active member of Maggie Valley United Methodist Church of Maggie Valley, NC. She retired from the Savannah River Site as an Industrial Hygienist. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church at 1:00PM with Rev. Richard Buff officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday evening at Mole Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, 4192 Soco Rd., Maggie Valley, NC 28751 or to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Nix of Aiken, SC, and Sheila (Roger) Folk of Barnwell, SC, sisters Peggy (Denton) Ussery and Betsy Grainger all of Blackville, SC, brothers, Melfi Grubbs of Columbia, SC and Earl Grubbs of Pennsylvania, grandchildren, Craig (Crystal) Rosier of Moncks Corner, SC Brannon (Kevin) Faulkner of Hickory Grove, SC, Jason Folk of Jacksonville, FL, and Jameson Folk of Barnwell, SC, great grandchildren, Jada, Reagan and Morgan Rosier and Porter, Holland and Kannon Faulkner. Special thanks to three very special family friends, Voncile Whitehead, JoAnne Folk, and Deborah Jamison, and also to Jennifer King of Tri-County Hospice.
