Obituary for Marshall Lowery Martin, Sr.
Marshall Lowery Martin, Sr., 87, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Aiken, SC. Mr. Martin was born in Ninety-Six, SC on June 3, 1928. He was the son of the late Robert Hogan and Mary Lee Martin. Mr. Martin was a retired Captain with the South Carolina Highway Patrol with 38 years of dedicated service, in which he was awarded Highway Patrolman of the year in 1970. He was a dedicated member of the Barnwell Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Barnwell Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Frank Cunningham and Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens with Honor's presented by the South Carolina Highway Patrol Color Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Barnwell Presbyterian Church at P.O. Box 466, Barnwell, SC 29812. Mole Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his loving wife; Edith Lowe Martin, son; Marshall "Marty" (Marian) Martin, Jr. of Barnwell, daughter; Lee Ann Riddle of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren; Brad (Mandy) Martin, Rob (Elizabeth) Martin, and Christopher Riddle, great grandchild; Quinn Edie Martin. He was predeceased by brothers; Ralph and Tommy Martin, sisters; Clara Crafton and Betty Shaw.
