Obituary for Margie Ethel Collins
Graveside funeral services for Margie Ethel Collins, 80, of Barnwell, SC, will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 11:00AM in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery (Airport) with Rev. Ron Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Margie passed away on September 11, 2020 at her home in Barnwell, SC.
Born in Barnwell County on May 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Sammie P. and Azilee Still Collins of Barnwell, SC. Margie enjoyed cooking and loved gardening and flowers. She retired from the SC Department of Social Services after 30+ years of service and was a devoted member of Mt. Lebanon Christian Church.
Survivors include her sister, Brenda C. Croft (Gene) of Barnwell, sister-in-law, Denise B. Collins of Aiken, nephew, Mitchell L. Collins (Kirsten) of Aiken, nieces, Beth Collins of Watkinsville, GA, Sharon C. Still of Barnwell, SC, great nieces/nephews, Katie Elliott (William) of West Point, MS, Sam Collins of Watkinsville, GA, Mason Collins of Aiken, SC, Eugene “Little Gene” Still of Barnwell, SC, George and Lillian Elliott of West Point, MS, Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gearl . Collins, Sr. and her nephews Marty Collins and Eddie Still.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses of Kindred Hospice and the caregivers from The Circle of Love for all they have done for Margie.
Due to the current pandemic and CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. Mask will be required and the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Mt. Lebanon Christian Church, 420 Christian Rd., Barnwell, SC 29812.
