Lee George, wife of Johnny George, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Johnny; son Scott (Debbye), of Charlotte, NC ; daughter Terri Winningham(Craig) , of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren Taylor George, of Boilings Springs, SC, Grayson George of Charlotte NC, John Winningham of Barnwell, SC, and Claire Winningham of Charlotte, NC.

Born in Cherryville, NC in 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Dessie Cook. She was pre-deceased by brothers Joe Cook and Paul Cook.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnwell and was very active socially. During her retired years, she loved playing bridge with her very close knit group of friends as well as devoting her time to each of her grandchildren throughout their growing up lives. In addition, she and Johnny spent much of their time traveling to various parts of the world with a great group of friends they met through the USC travel agency.

A graveside service will be held at 11am, Thursday, December 31, at Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the Barnwell Airport, conducted by Reverend David Turner. Family will receive friends immediately following the service, also asking that social distancing protocols be practiced during this time. Mole Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
