Obituary for Leon Frampton Beasley, jr.
Leon Frampton Beasley, Jr. left to be with the Lord on January 6, 2021 at the age of 90 at his home. He was born in Frostproof, Florida on March 1, 1930, and grew up in Barnwell, SC. He was the son of the late Leon F. Beasley, Sr. and Etta Owens Beasley of Barnwell. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Macie Fickling Beasley, and his sister Louise Beasley Burney. He is survived by his children, Barry Beasley (Jangie) of Barnwell, Mark Beasley (Debbie) of Barnwell, and Michelle Woodward of Elgin, SC; his grandchildren, Frampie Beasley, Lenzie Beasley Brant (Shawn), Jacob Beasley (Kaitlain), all of Barnwell, Ethan Beasley and Brenden Woodward of Elgin, SC., and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his faithful companion and friend, his dog, Blue, who he referred to as “The best Christmas present I every got.”
Frampton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnwell and served as a Deacon and was active on several committees for many years. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in March 1958. He was a member of Harmony Lodge #17 in Barnwell where he was a Master Mason for more than fifty years, and was a member of Omar Shriners. He retired from the Savannah River Plant after 36 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was constantly working on projects outside and in his shop. He was always ready to lend a hand. What he enjoyed most was spending time with friends and family, always ready to tell a joke or a colorful story. When his loving wife, Macie, was stricken with Alzheimers, he lovingly cared for her at home until her passing on October 17, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed “in memory of Leon Frampton Beasley, Jr” to First Baptist Church of Barnwell Missions, 161 Allen Street, Barnwell, SC 29812.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00PM at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road with Steve Burnette officiating. The family will greet guests following the service.
