Obituary for Myra Rebecca Queen Loper
Myra Rebecca Queen Loper died January 3rd, 2021 at her home in Ruffin from heart failure.

Rebecca, daughter of the late Charles Isaac and Berneta Weaks Queen, was born in Conway, South Carolina on June 6, 1948. She lived most of her early life in Barnwell, graduating from Barnwell High and lettering in basketball as part of the "Fab 5."

Rebecca graduated from Furman University, and received her Masters in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia in 1970. She worked as a physical therapist for nearly 30 years, serving as the Director of Physical Therapy at several hospitals. Rebecca also spent many years as a home health PT for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Becky loved football and sewing and stray cats and flying airplanes—origami and library books--dogs and magazines, sweet tea and manicures. She was a woman of deep curiosity, empathy, and faith.

Becky is survived by her beloved husband Dale; daughter Marnie (Sean) Lewis of Morehead City, NC; son Brandon (Chelsey) Loper of Estill, SC; grandchildren Cameron Loper, Zack (Lauren) Cox, Sean Lewis, Evan Lewis, Clara Loper, Seaburn Loper; and great-grandchild Rachael Cox. She is also survived by her sisters Ruth (Rallie) Seigler of Columbia, and Charles Anita (Bill) Coffey of Chesnee, SC, and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Cameron (Jan) Loper, and her sister Susan Queen.

Due to Covid limitations, a memorial service will be announced at a later date, memorial may be made to Lifesong Church Homeless Ministry, 215 Partridge Trail, Walterboro, SC 29488
