Obituary for George Malvern Hogg, III
George Malvern Hogg III, age 73, passed away at Orangeburg RMC on June 16, 2021, after a brief illness. Malvern was born on January 20, 1948, to the late George Malvern Hogg, Jr. and Dorothy Rogers Hogg. Malvern graduated from Barnwell High School, where he lettered in football and track. After finishing Columbia Commercial College, Malvern became a service technician with BellSouth, where he worked for over 30 years before retiring.
Malvern loved the Lord, his family, his close band of friends, surfing at Edisto Beach, playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, and his fur baby Hackleberry. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son Britt (Stacey) Hogg of Columbia; grandchildren Summer, Robert, and Britton Hogg; sister Frances (Randy) Eubanks; nephews Jamey and Cam Eubanks; special companion Margo Allen and her children; special cousin Sylvia Gilmore. In addition to his parents, Malvern was predeceased by a son, George Clinton Hogg and a niece Caroline McCall Eubanks.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2021, in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel followed by a private burial. Robbie Gardner will provide the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Animal Advocates of Barnwell County, PO Box 1924,
Barnwell, SC 29812 or the charity of one’s choice.
