Obituary for Linda Birt Dicks
Linda Birt Dicks, 75, went to be with her Lord on June 6th, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
She was born on August 4th, 1947 to the late Murray Lawrence and Gladys Bolen Birt.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 9th, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Barnwell County Memorial (Airport) Cemetery, with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating. The family will have a private service prior to the graveside. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to the Animal Advocates of Barnwell.
Linda had the gift of hospitality. She loved nothing more than, to bring her family and friends together for a meal, set a beautiful table and decorate with fresh florals picked from her yard. She was a wonderful cook, decorator and loved to sing. She was a member of Sandlapper League, Cherokee Garden Club, The Winton Assembly and the State Park Supper Club. She was a loving wife of 43 years, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Hamilton Dicks III; son Hamilton (Michele) Dicks IV of Barnwell, SC; daughter Allison Dicks (Tim) Forehand of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren Caity, Emily, Anna Dicks; niece Lisa Childers; nephew Chris Sorrell; and her loving dog “Beau”. The family would like to thank Diane Bodiford, Jennifer King and Lisa Childers for all their love and compassion. She is preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Birt, and sister Faye Birt Sorrell.
